Rules are broken....

Changes....Oh mighty how things are changing!! As you all know, we had a foreign exchange student, Bruna. Well Cody and I have decided that is best for her to leave our home. There is alot of pain and anger that has been caused!! To sum it up, she is spoiled, she gets what she wants in Brazil and she has no rules. She back talks Cody and me. She has threatened Katelyn 2 times to hit her. The rules alone, is enough to say that she can not handle them. She wants to be treated like an adult and she is acting like a child. She was punished for taking advantage of my family and she got mad and tried to throw a fit. She called our coordinator at 11 at night, which lives in Idaho falls, 2 hours away...To come and get Bruna. When the coordinator told her that she was not going to make it on Bruna's demand, she got even more mad!! Her expectations of coming to my home, is that she can do what ever she wants.. I told her NO and that I am in control so she is throwing a fit like a 2 year old. Her way of handling this was to lie and tell her mother and the coordinators that we starve her!! This makes me laugh!! She is a pig at my house, she alone eats more than the 5 in my family!! She has also, gone to say that Cody and I are in a troubled relationship.....We are not perfect, but we love eachother and we are a team...Not troubled, but as I think, NORMAL!! This morning, she was screaming at her mother to sign the papers so she can get on the next flight to Brazil, her mother said no, she needs to try!! Bruna cried, screamed, and didnt get her way, so she is very mad!! So as of now, I dont know what is going on but she is not staying here!! She is determined to go back and she will destroy anything to get there!! But the one thing she will not destroy is my family and my pride.
I am determined to have a successful experience with a host student. I am not done with this process and I think this was a great learning tool for us!! I have made mistakes but I am learning and growing... I am honest with Bruna and myself when I say that I am a little discouraged at this point but I still want the best for her and I hope that she succeeds wherever she goes!!!

I understand that not all teenagers are like her....So that is my decision on not giving up...Bruna has some great friends that I have met that are not like her!! That are respectful and appreciative. My expectations were realistic for this experience, and I knew that there were stages for being homesick and/ or adjusting...I just never thought it was going to end up like this..
So it has been officially a week since we have been a family of 5 again and I can not tell you how enjoyable and relaxing life is again......We can breath and laugh in our own home!!! The last few months have been difficult but there is light at the end of the tunnel....I spoke with our coordinator the other day and she said Bruna was adjusting well and doing okay!!! So she wasnt meant for our family but we do wish her luck!!

Thomas Jefferson is a Joke... The principal has disliked Bruna from day one!! The first day he spoke spanish with her, which she speaks Portuguese.... She answers in English and he gets frustrated cause he wants her to respond in Spanish. A few days after this started she finally told him that in Brazil that they speak Portuguese.....he assisted to argue with her and she told him to google it....He was mad that she stood up to him....
Also, there are close to 12 foreign exchange at this school.... They all hug good bye.. Mr...Jerk, the principal, watched Bruna very closely. He wants her back in Brazil. He also has a foreign exchange student that is a boy and when Bruna does her rounds of hugs, she hugged him and The principal went to her yelling at her that they were making out and groping each other. He called me last Wednesday saying that she needed consequences for her actions. After talking with her she told me that they never do anything like that except hug goodbye. I told her that I would talk to him on Tuesday when they resumed back to school.
So I called the school on Tuesday and asked for an appt. Cathy, the sec, said there was nothing till Thursday. So I said ok. About 15 minutes later she calls back and says to pick up Bruna NOW and The principal wanted to meet with me.... ASAP....So about 20 minutes later I got the the school and Mr. Jerk and I went into the office and he yelled at me for about 45 minutes...Saying Bruna was selfish, spoiled and strong minded...
His first issue he brought up that He and the boy were to close and she was laying on his P@nis...over and over again... For a principal he could have used lap or genitals....
second issue was Bruna is late to school and to class everyday. She rides the bus so I know this is not true... I asked if I could speak to the teachers about her attendance and her attitude and performance, He said NO.... I told him that we have friends come to the house and I do ask about Bruna's performance to the friends and he said to me " I see where your maturity level is." That irritated me...
He told us that she was not able to come back till her attitude changed and she could follow all rules and bend over backwards. She must be in school because the semester started or she must go back to Brazil... So there is no choice to allow her to take a break from him!!
After we left, he told our coordinator that he admitted to judging me for my age but I did very well as he was criticizing me....
We are working on getting her to a different school but until we can she must be on her best behavior and do everything to a T..including an apology letter to him....She took this to him yesterday and he replied that it was exactly what he wanted....JERK!!!
She is in good spirit about this and I can not wait till we can get her out of there!! We are going to the Board about this situation!!
